We wish to quarantee the hobbyhorse community a good quality competition and to do that the timing must the as good as possible for all the competitors and also our international guests. We will announce the new date for the competition soon.

To keep our community active we will be offering you several smaller events and activities towards the end of the summer and the end of this year if and when the virus situation allows this.

Keep safe and keep riding, you all!

Best wishes,

March 1st, 2020

The central element of hobbyhorsing as a hobby is doing things by yourself and together with others. The Finnish Hobbyhorse Association operates on this principle: Hobbyhorsers create things with and for their fellow hobbyhorsers.

The only official championships of The Finnish Hobbyhorse Association is the annual Finnish Hobbyhorse Championships (@keppihevosten_sm_kilpailut). At his moment there are no official European or World Championships by the Finnish Hobbyhorse Association.

As the official representative of the hobbyhorses as sports and the largest hobbyhorse association in Finland and in the world, we feel the responsibility of how we bring this new sport to the attention of the rest of the world and what kind of activities we offer to our fellow hobbyhorsers. The Hobbyhorse Association and its volunteers come together each year to work innumerable hours to put together the Finnish Hobbyhorse Championships. We wish to emphasize that hobbyhorses are a unique and truly versatile sport that we have created by ourselves and together with other hobbyhorsers.

There is an ongoing discussion on whether it is time for us to introduce the Hobbyhorse European Championships or World Championships. We do not think the time is right for these, yet. To create a good quality international event that is fair for all nationalities, there should be local hobbyhorse associations in each of the countries participating.

The Finnish Hobbyhorse Association continues to develop its own organization and gathering know-how on arranging international competitions. In the future, when the time is right, there will be a European Hobbyhorse Championship and World Hobbyhorse Championship.

We wish to thank all our members and all the fellow hobbyhorsers around the world for the discussion and your support of our work.

From one hobbyhorser to another,

The board of The Finnish Hobbyhorse Association
